It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Steve Hodge — a true stalwart of Sutton Little League.
Steve dedicated around 20 years to Sutton Little League and was an integral part of its journey and success. As a long-standing Juniors Manager and Division Representative, and later as our Welfare Officer, Steve poured his heart and soul into the league. He also served as a valued member of the Executive Committee, helping to guide Sutton Little League through key moments of growth and development. The league we know today exists in no small part because of his commitment, care, and leadership.
Steve’s connection to Sutton Little League was deeply personal — his sons, Jordan, Nathan, and Anthony, all played in the league and went on to follow in their dad’s footsteps by becoming team managers themselves. His passion for grassroots football and for helping young people grow through the game left a lasting impact that continues through his family and the many people he influenced.
Even after relocating to Bognor Regis around five years ago for a more relaxed pace of life, Steve remained in touch — still eager to know how things were going and to offer support from afar. His bond with Sutton Little League never faded.
Steve was more than a volunteer — he was a legend. A kind, dependable, and quietly influential presence who helped build the foundation of what Sutton Little League is today.
Rest in peace, Steve. You will be deeply missed, and your legacy will forever be part of our story.
